RoleShift is an early-stage product. Our privacy practices are intentionally simple, restrained, and designed to minimize long-term risk to users.

What We Collect

Account Information

• Email address
• Name and profile photo (if using OAuth)
• Hashed password (if applicable)

Practice Session Content

• Video recordings, audio recordings, and transcripts you create during practice sessions
• Job descriptions and resume content you provide for context
• Feedback and guidance generated during sessions

You retain ownership of all your content.

Usage Data

• Basic operational logs (feature usage, error reports, performance metrics)
• These logs are designed not to include your practice content

How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Operate and maintain the Service
• Authenticate users
• Analyze your practice sessions and provide feedback and guidance
• Communicate important service updates

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

Our Data Philosophy

RoleShift is intentionally designed to minimize data collection and retention.

As an early-stage product, we prioritize:

• Collecting only what is necessary
• Avoiding secondary or speculative data use
• Giving users direct control over their content

As the product evolves, our data practices may evolve as well. Any material changes will be communicated clearly before taking effect.

AI Processing

Core features (feedback, signal analysis, guidance) rely on third-party AI services.

• Your content may be sent to these providers to generate analysis and feedback
• We do not use your content to train AI models
• We opt out of provider training programs where available
• Providers and models may change as the Service evolves; we evaluate them based on security posture, data handling guarantees, and opt-out support

AI outputs may be imperfect. RoleShift is a coaching aid, not a guarantee of outcomes.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party providers for:

• Hosting and infrastructure
• Authentication
• AI and analysis services

We do not sell user data. Third-party services process data under their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

• Your content is retained until you delete it
• Deleted content is permanently removed within 30 days
• Operational logs are retained for up to 90 days

Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, hash secrets, and isolate user data at the database level.

No system is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You may:

• Access your data
• Correct inaccuracies
• Export your data
• Delete your account and content

California and European residents may have additional rights under CCPA and GDPR.

Cookies

We use only essential authentication cookies.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
